Every seed carries life and has the potential to be fruitful. It can grow and produce fruits only if it is planted. The Bible says the word of God is a seed. It has life and can produce fruits when planted in our lives. Are you planting this seed and bearing fruits or living a superficial spiritual life without any fruits? In this series of posts (Part 1 & 2), let us explore how we can plant God’s word to produce its desired outcome in our lives.
What is your greatest need in life? Think about it, If this question was asked about 10 or 20 years earlier, what might have been your response? What about after 10 or 20 years from now? Do you think you will have the same response? For many of us, the answer may be different at different stages in life. What if we can ask someone who knows our complete life? You see, We are God’s creation; God knows our greatest need in life and he is more than willing to fulfill the need. In this post, i would like to ponder upon this question of our greatest need in life.
When we think about spiritual gifts, many of us are content to be a spectator assuming the gifts are given only to selected few in the church or consider some gifts more valuable than others based on the way they are manifested. Are these assumptions according to the word of God? Do you think you have spiritual gifts? What gifts do you have? How are you using the gifts? Our response can tell a lot about our understanding of the gifts. Scripture says that we are not to be ignorant of the gifts and in this post, i want to encourage you to know more about spiritual gifts from scripture and desire to manifest the gifts for the glory of God.
United we stand, divided we fall. Isn’t this very true? We understand the importance of living in unity to accomplish a common goal. But many times, achieving unity is tough when people start to think more about self. God wants us to live in unity. He united us together and made us part of his Church. Are we continuing to live in the unity which God gifted us? Apostle Paul wrote about four essential attitudes which can help us to maintain unity in the Church of God and these are foundations for the unity in our family as well.
As we enter in to the new year, it is a time when many of us come up with new year resolutions for our personal and professional growth. We love to grow in all aspects of life and it is certainly important. But how many of us desire for spiritual growth? Many times we don’t consider to evaluate our growth in this area of life. Do you know if you have grown spiritually this year? We know how much dedication, discipline and effort are needed to grow in other areas of life but do we realize what it takes to grow spiritually? Apostle Paul prayed an amazing prayer for spiritual growth for his readers and it can teach us for our growth as well.
It is that time of the year when we can feel the season of Christmas in the air. The reason is to celebrate the birth of Christ. It was the time when God dwelt among people. What a wonderful place it will be if God is with us! In his presence we have fullness of joy, peace, hope and love. We all long to have a little more of these in our lives. Jesus said he is going to be with us all the time. Don’t we love to be in a place where God’s resides? In the book of Ephesians, We can read more about God’s dwelling place and how can we become part of it.
Living a peaceful life is everyone’s goal. Are we successful in achieving it? Do we have peace? If you have been reading news lately, it is hard to miss the reality we are living every day. We see a state of great turmoil across the world. We see nations raising against nations and people against people. Where do we find peace in this troubled times? What about in our personal life? Do we have peace within us and with others? In this post, let us read more on this quest for peace.
Have you ever wondered about your purpose in life? Eventually, we all face this question. When life gets routine and when we start to lose motivation, passion, direction or clarity about the future, we start to think about the purpose of our life. We are not an accidental existence in this world to live without purpose. God has wonderful plans and purpose for our life including our past, present and future. It doesn’t have to be a mystery. Do you have clarity in life? Let us face it, many of us get overwhelmed with uncertainty about future and lot of questions linger in our minds. Our focus gets shifted to the immediate problems and we feel being taken over by the circumstances in life. How can we see clearly in the midst of all that is happening around us? What is your hope in life? Hope is confident expectation of something good in future. For many of us, it may be based on relationships, health, work, money, power, knowledge and so on. If you think about it, the things which gave us hope in the past may not be the source of hope now and it may be changing over period of time. Also there is so much despair around us to crush the hope and many of us struggle with hopelessness and even fall in to depression when we don’t find hope in life. What can give us the sustaining hope in life and after? How can we live in such confidence?
